EXCLUSIVE: Premier Mass Torts Practice Seeks Mid to Senior Level Associate
An extremely prestigious international law firm has asked Garrison to exclusively assist in its unpublished efforts to add a mid-to-senior level mass torts associate to its storied practice. This opportunity offers an exciting, fast-paced experience where you will go to trial. The team has handled 20 trials over the past four years, providing invaluable hands-on exposure to its associates.
The work will be dedicated to critical fact development, including conducting depositions, interviewing witnesses, reviewing key documents, and piecing together facts to build case foundations. In addition to case building, this role will also involve crafting motions of summary judgement, motions to dismiss, and appellate briefs, as well as expert development and report drafting.
Requirements: The associate must have 2-6 years of related experience, with significant familiarity with the mass torts/products liability litigation process.
After speaking to the lead Co-Chair of the group, we believe this position is particularly attractive for the following reasons:
- Top in Field/Premier Clients: They work on some of the most newsworthy matters and have amazing clientele. They are very involved in precedent-setting technology cases. The firm itself is “best in class” in Washington, D.C.
- Responsibility: You will immediately have a significant role in one of the most important technology products liability cases in the country. There are over one hundred depositions scheduled, and you will take part in those. You will be assigned experts and be part of the trial team (expected date – late 2025). Your responsibility will be determined more by your experience and abilities than your class year.
- Mentoring and Professional Development: This firm’s reputation, with regard to training and investment in its associates, is virtually unmatched.
- In-house Opportunities with Clients and Excellent Government Positions: While the firm has excellent advancement opportunities, the chairs of this practice have honest discussions about the career paths of their associates. They realize that not every associate wants to stay in a law firm long-term. They actively help place associates with their renown clients and assist associates who want to become DOJ lawyers or AUSAs. In-house litigation opportunities are few. This is a real path to finding those jobs that you never see publicly.
- Culture: This firm’s culture is well-known to be a gold standard in the D.C. legal community hence why the firm has one of the top retention rates amongst Washington, D.C. law firms. Collaboration is extremely important both within this practice and throughout the firm. Kindness and respect are expected and reinforced at all levels of the firm. This firm also enjoys an excellent reputation for diversity.
*This is a RARE opening, as this practice has not looked at the lateral market in at least 25 years. It is arguably a one-of-a-kind experience!
