Fortune 500 IT Consulting Company Seeks Government Contracts Counsel
Elite legal department of industry leader headquartered in the DMV seeks to add a Counsel (with 4+ yrs. of experience) to its government contracts team due to a promotion. You will join over 25,000+ employees globally and be part of an 18-attorney government contracts group reporting to the team lead who G&S placed eight years ago. This innovative government contractor has received countless industry awards—to name a few: Forbes, Best Large Employers; Forbes, Best Companies for Diversity and for Women; and Indeed, Best Work/Life Balance.
Overview of Role: This organization has three primary industry verticals, and this new Counsel will support the senior lawyers and internal clients in the Civil Sector. Applicants should have a minimum of four years’ knowledge and experience with the FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and bid protests. You will handle prime contract and subcontract negotiations, pre-award support (e.g., RFP reviews), and post-award counseling (e.g., debriefings and protest assessments) and also counsel clients on compliance matters including gifts and business courtesies, anti-kickback, post-government employment restrictions, organizational and personal conflicts of interest, and competition issues.
Selling Points: The GovCon group is close-knit and takes a team approach to many of the matters under its portfolio. We have worked closely with this favorite corporate client for 20+ years, and we have placed 25+ attorneys with them, including many members of this team. Attorneys work predictable and reasonable hours, and currently go into the office only a couple of days per month. Terrific opportunity to be part of a high quality (and highly selective) organization with a commitment to professional development and skill enhancement that is equal to other top “best places to work” award recipients. **Position is slated to start in January.
