We are partnering with a trusted West Coast search firm on a unique Assistant General Counsel opportunity with a global nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles. This organization delivers innovative healthcare services, research, and advocacy to underserved communities, regardless of ability to pay.
About the Role: The Assistant General Counsel will:
- Focus primarily on civil litigation, with a mix of labor and employment and general litigation work.
- Handle contract and policy drafting and review, advice and counsel, and regulatory compliance.
- Engage directly in litigation (not just manage outside counsel), as the organization transitions most litigation work in-house.
- Support additional matters involving healthcare, government contracts, Public Records Act compliance, and affordable housing.
You’ll work closely with a highly collegial legal team and partner with management to develop business and legal strategies.
Key Details:
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years
- Location: Los Angeles, CA (5 days/week in-office)
- Compensation: $170,000 – $212,000 base salary plus bonus
- Bar Admission: California bar membership not required at time of hire, but willingness to take it is necessary
