  • Associate General Counsel, Product & Privacy

    Our client, a market-leading technology and data company, seeks to hire an Associate General Counsel, Product & Privacy to join its Legal, Risk, and Compliance team. This high-impact role will partner with the Product, Technology, and Marketing teams to minimize risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive innovation.     Key Responsibilities

    • Build, enhance, and scale the global privacy program, including policies, training, incident response, and compliance operations.
    • Collaborate with information security leaders on privacy best practices, risk assessments, and data protection controls.
    • Draft and maintain privacy notices, disclosures, and internal policies to ensure compliance with U.S. and international privacy and cybersecurity laws.
    • Manage a small team overseeing data subject requests, complaints, and security questionnaires.
    • Partner with the Product, Technology and Marketing teams to instill privacy compliant strategies throughout product development practices along with ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations.
    • Partner with commercial contracting colleagues on privacy and security issues in vendor and customer agreements.
    • Monitor evolving regulations, enforcement actions, and industry standards, including emerging issues in AI, and provide proactive guidance to leadership.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years’ privacy, data security, and consumer protection experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department setting.
    • Expertise in federal and state privacy laws; international experience (Canada and Europe) strongly preferred.
    • Experience advising technology companies; AI exposure strongly preferred.
    • CIPP/US required; CIPP/C and/or CIPP/EU strongly preferred.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Strong business acumen with proven ability to build and scale internal processes.
    • Proactive, hands-on mindset with a track record of delivering solutions in demanding environments.
