Exclusive Multi-Faceted D.C. Corporate Opportunity – Best in Class Culture, Strong Advancement Potential
Garrison has been exclusively engaged by the corporate practice of a D.C.-based AmLaw firm, who is eager to add a well-rounded junior- to mid-level associate to their thriving group.
Practice Details: The larger corporate group sits across multiple offices, but the tight knit team you will join, and support sits in the D.C. office. Your practice will focus on a broad range of corporate transactions such as M&A, private placements, public offerings, leveraged buyouts, commercial contracts, corporate governance and much more. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in both private and public work.
Practice Differentiators Shared by Chair of Practice:
- Culture: This firm is considered to be a Washington, D.C. gold standard for its atmosphere. For decades, the firm has been known to be friendly, compassionate and welcoming to all. This firm recruits carefully and places an emphasis on personality.
- Diversity of Practice: You will not be siloed into a certain type of corporate work, and you will round out your corporate experience by being involved in many sub-specialties you may, or may not, encountered before. Few D.C. corporate practices can offer this array of work.
- Significant Responsibility: On average, matters are staffed with two or three attorneys at a time. This ensures you will have a high-level of responsibility and involvement on these deals, as well as work very closely with senior partners and important clients. You will receive as much responsibility as you are able to handle and will have ample opportunity to meet some of the firms most important clients.
- Advancement Potential/Business Development Training: Our client has a strong track record of advancing associates, and this hire is being made with the intention of preparing this person for partnership. The partners are very invested and will take an active role in your development within the firm to include mentoring on business development initiatives and many speaking and networking opportunities.
- Hours/Compensation: The firms offer a variety of hours-based salary options that can bring you to about 85%+ of the Cravath scale. Associates average 2,000-2,100 hours in the group (which includes credit for pro bono and DEI efforts).
Candidates need 2+ years of either M&A, PE or EC/VC experience and capital markets experience from an AmLaw firm or prestigious boutique.
This is an unpublished Garrison exclusive opportunity.
