Unpublished Opportunity with Award-Winning Litigation Group: Top Firm and Partnership Potential (DC Office)

We are working on a unique opportunity with an award-winning litigation group at a destination firm where making partner is attainable, your colleagues are social and friendly, and the billable hours are very reasonable.

This elite international law firm has exclusively engaged Garrison to assist in its efforts to add a mid-to-senior level associate to their diverse commercial litigation practice. As you may expect, this firm pays top of market compensation (new Cravath scale) for salary and bonuses.

The Work and Responsibility: This position is 100% litigation – not investigations, unless it is directly related to a filed matter. The work consists of very desirable privacy and cybersecurity-related litigation, class actions and multi-district cases (insurance, data breaches, franchise, pharmaceuticals, automotive and more), Administrative Procedures Act (mostly pharmaceuticals) and a variety of other types of commercial litigation. You will have ample opportunity to manage cases, take ownership of briefs, speak to opposing counsel, partake in deposition work, draft discovery and more. The firm takes on a variety of cases from large class actions to smaller matters. The firm is keenly aware of not pigeon-holing anyone in any one case or type of litigation.

Culture and Exposure to Partners: The team is of moderate size (small compared to peer firms), and everyone knows everyone on the team. The partner/associate ratio is much lower than many other top litigation firms. The partners have an open door policy, are very interactive, and have a “team” mindset. The atmosphere is collaborative, friendly and down-to earth. No one would describe the group as bookish, snobby or passive aggressive. The firm itself is known for having very engaging people with interests outside the practice of law.

Ability to Advance: This firm has a strong track record of advancing associates. The partners are very invested and committed to their associates and all hires are made with the intention that the hires will be there long-term. The firm has a substantive counsel level, as well as a non-equity partner tier, so making partner is much more realistic than peer firms.

Pro Bono and Billable Hours: This firm not only makes pro bono a priority, but they also give billable hour credit for pro bono work. Average hours, including pro bono, range from 2,000-2,200 with many associates often on the lower end of that spectrum.

***You must currently spend at least half your time working on litigation as opposed to investigations.
