UNICORN Opportunity to Switch Your Practice Area  to Corporate at Top AmLaw Firm

Have you ever thought that your current practice area may not be right for you – and wondered whether or how it would be possible to make the transition to corporate?  If so, this email may change your career trajectory.

Our client is looking to expand its structured finance group in Washington, D.C. with a junior associate – and will consider a well-credentialed associate from another practice area and train them to become a terrific corporate associate. Half of the work consists of capital markets securities and the other bank finance. This group is recognized as one of the top practices in the nation, with highly sophisticated, bespoke and diverse transactional matters.

Candidate Requirements: Junior associate from a very prestigious firm with outstanding law school credentials and a sincere interest in switching their practice to corporate. This is an extremely rare opportunity driven by client demand; hence, the consideration to hire a junior associate from another practice area.

This position is particularly attractive for the following reasons:

  1. Future In-House Career: The vast majority of local in-house opportunities are reserved for corporate and government contracts associates. This position will measurably increase your probability of landing an in-house position in the future.

  1. Long-Term Advancement Opportunities: Given the current influx of work and the projected growth of the practice, there is a very real opportunity to advance in the group. The group is one of the firm’s most profitable, and has been given full authority to promote a number of partners and counsel over the next several years. The group is also proud of its internal track record for promotion.

  1. Sophistication of Work: The firm works on novel transactions for some of the most prestigious issuers and underwriters and across various asset classes.

  1. Major Exposure: You will be given drafting experience on day one and there is no upper limit on the amount of responsibility you will be given, if you show the ability and desire to grow. This is a “hands-on” opportunity where you will soon be running parts of deals on your own.

PLEASE NOTE: Any type of law firm experience will be considered. The partners are so committed to training that if you are bright, teachable, team-oriented and genuinely interested in this type of work, they are confident that they can teach the skills to grow and succeed in this group.
