Transactional Associate for Fintech/Crypto/Financial Services Practice (DC/NY) (Unpublished)

Appealing opportunity to join one of the leading financial services law firms in the world.  This global AmLaw firm has a cross-office and interdisciplinary approach to serving its major financial institution (bank and non-bank), Fintech, Tech-Enabled, Web3 and emerging tech clients.  This is a fast-growing area of the law involving novel technology and new legal questions on a near daily basis.

The ideal attorney for this role will have at least 4 years of experience, a transactional background, with at least some financial services regulatory experience – and want to have a transactional practice that is focused on fintech/crypto/digital assets-related technology. 

This is an unpublished and exclusive search through Garrison & Sisson. Some of the details for this position as shared directly from the practice group heads include:

  • The Role: This 10-plus attorney team works with clients at all stages of the product life cycle. At any given time, you will have a diverse work mix that is transactional in nature, including for example: (i) M&A transactional drafting and advising, (ii) drafting of payment processing and card program agreements, (iii) preparing website and app terms of service, (iv) drafting bespoke reps and warranties for digital asset products, and (v) evaluating crypto products to determine how to structure the token offering from a regulatory perspective (e.g., is it a security and do broker-dealer or investment adviser rules apply).

  • Practice Differentiators: In this practice group, you will (i) work on new and novel matters that are not precedent-based and for a very diverse client base, (ii) enjoy the benefits of practicing within a gemstone practice of the firm alongside partners who are committed to the mentorship/development, visibility, and advancement of their associates, and (iii) have a significant amount of direct client contact advising on structuring and helping to bring new products to market.

  • Compensation/Hours: This firm pays top of the market and has reasonable billable hours requirements, including credited pro bono and DEI hours.
