Our client provides services in all facets of the development process, including design and construction, project management, land planning and zoning, accounting, property management, leasing, and project finance. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer.

Overview of Role: At our client’s headquarters in Northern Virginia, you will work alongside the Corporate and Retail Leasing legal departments. • Handle the development, operation, management, marketing, acquisitions and divestitures of the Company’s properties.
  • Prepare and negotiate retail leases within retail shopping centers and mixed-use projects, office and industrial leases, service and purchase agreements, and special event licenses.
  • Draft commercial contracts, community declarations, and easement agreements; review title and survey; and advise on lease disputes (i.e., collections, bankruptcy, and CAM and real estate tax disputes) as needed.

Selling Points:

  • Three of the four attorneys in the OGC have a combined average of 15 years’ experience with the company. The fourth lawyer was placed by us in 2022 and will be a peer to this new hire.
  • The Office of General Counsel is highly respected by the C-Suite executives and functions as true business partners. So, you will work hand-in-glove with key business leads.
  • An outstanding corporate culture was critical to the founder, and many employees work for the company the better part of their careers. They invest in their people like no other organization we’ve seen!

Qualifications: Candidates should have 2+ years of varied real estate experience in acquisition/sales, development, financing, leasing (office and/or retail), management agreements, construction contracts, Master POAs, REAs, and title and survey work.
