Rapidly Expanding Security, Medical & Logistics Company Seeks L&E Counsel (Hybrid)
G&S has been engaged on an exclusive basis to assist a business unit of one of the world’s largest privately-owned integrated security and risk management companies, in the search for its first labor & employment attorney. Whether it is providing medical care for Afghan refugees, children at the Mexican border or disaster relief, this company is doing good things in the U.S. and beyond.
As a key member of a small in-house legal team, you will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and have primary responsibility for all labor and employment legal matters and support HR on various compliance matters. Currently, they have 500 employees but are poised for significant growth over the next 3 years, due to recent and potential acquisitions.
Primary Responsibilities: Advise on L&E matters under federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and assist in determining relevant labor laws and requirements in foreign jurisdictions; provide advice and oversee outside counsel on all L&E-related litigation (e.g., EEOC, OSHA, DOL, OFCCP, state and local agencies); lead, supervise and assist in resolution of internal investigations involving employee complaints, third party complaints, whistleblower claims, etc.; support HR on compensation, benefits, ERISA, and immigration matters; participate as needed in M&A activity, providing advice on L&E matters/due diligence review; and assist on other legal dept. matters as needed (e.g., contracts, insurance, etc.).
Candidate Profile Sought: 3+ years of L&E experience gained in an AmLaw 200 firm or specialty boutique. Experience working with government contractors or professional services firm clients is preferred but not required. Familiarity with employee benefits programs and compensation matters is helpful. You should also be skilled at handling multiple tasks concurrently and making quick decisions in a fast-paced, customer-oriented, and deadline-driven environment.
