High-Growth, Regional Bank Seeks Senior Financial Services Lawyer (Fully Remote Option)

Leading regional bank in has retained G&S to assist in its national search for a Senior Counsel with 12+ years of expertise handling issues affecting consumer, small business and retail banking regarding deposit and lending products and services. Working closely with senior management and other internal partners you will manage the legal, regulatory, and reputational risks associated with such products and services. Our client has been ranked #1 in Consumer Satisfaction in its region for Consumer Banking.

Newly created role with a financial institution that projects significant growth over the next 3-5 years. This is a chance to shine at a smaller financial institution (5 lawyers currently), and the General Counsel will invest in your success (strong promotion prospects). Position Overview: Provide advice on the Dodd-Frank Act, Federal Reserve Act, regs enacted by the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, CFPB, and other federal and state regulatory agencies, and consumer protection laws; collaborate with internal partners to assess the legal, regulatory and reputational risks associated with consumer and small business banking products and services; provide guidance to internal partners during regulatory examinations and audits; assist in evaluating and developing appropriate consumer banking policies and practices to conform with legal and regulatory standards; manage outside counsel as needed; and lead discussions on complex topics with C-Suite and senior management.

Qualified candidates must possess 12+ years as a practicing attorney with relevant consumer banking experience and, ideally, 3+ years as in-house counsel at a highly respected financial institution. Essential skills: Critical thinking, strong leadership skills, solid understanding of bank operations, and ability to proactively manage consumer risk.
