Elite legal department of industry leader headquartered in the DMV seeks to add an Associate General Counsel to its government contracts group. You will join over 25,000+ employees globally and be part of a 12-attorney government contracts team reporting to the Deputy General Counsel (previously a GovCon Partner in an AmLaw 50 firm). This innovative government contractor has received countless industry awards—to name a few: Forbes, Best Large Employers; Forbes, Best Companies for Diversity and for Women; Indeed, Best Work/Life Balance; and ComputerWorld, Best Places to Work in IT.
Responsibilities: This AGC will support two primary client accounts and focus on federal procurement transactions; however, you will also be exposed to a wide range of complex issues at the prime and subcontract level, provide risk reviews, assist occasionally on complex disputes or bid protests, and manage one-off legal department initiatives as needed. Accordingly, our client requires a minimum of eight years’ experience in government contracts procurement (contract review, structuring and advising), handling disputes with primes and subs, bid protests and compliance reviews, as well as strong knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations (e.g., SCA, OCI, T&Cs, etc.). Additional experience counseling on IP and data rights protection issues would be ideal (as is having product sales experience).
Selling Points: The GovCon group is close-knit and takes a team approach to many of the matters under its portfolio. Our firm has collaborated closely with this favorite corporate client for many years and has placed 20+ attorneys with them, including many members of this team. Attorneys work predictable and reasonable hours with significant remote work flexibility once back in the office. Terrific opportunity to be part of a high quality (and highly selective) organization with a commitment to professional development and skill enhancement that is equal to other top “best places to work” award recipients.
