Exclusive Search: Counsel for the Country’s Leading Biomedical Non-Profit (Hybrid or Remote)
Exceptionally rare attorney position with a non-profit that works with its partners to accelerate biomedical research and strategies against diseases and health concerns in the U.S. and across the globe. This is a newly created role due to an increased workflow, and you will not get bored due to the diversity of the legal portfolio. This company has an employee-focused corporate culture with an excellent work-life balance.
You will support a range of internal clients, including Research Partnerships, Science, Strategic Alliances and Advancement, Finance, Communications, and Operations, as well as external stakeholders, including foundations, associations, corporations, universities, and individuals to drive innovation and biomedical discovery. Primary Responsibilities: Drafting and negotiating donor agreements, grant agreements, services agreements, research collaboration agreements, data sharing agreements and confidentiality agreements; providing support on regulatory filings and compliance obligations; handling data privacy, government contracting, financial sanctions, legal operations, and knowledge management; and supporting outside counsel on employment, international law, IP and real estate issues.
Candidate Profile Sought: 5+ years of legal experience. In addition to a technology transactions lawyer, our client will consider 1) a corporate lawyer who’s handled a range of agreements in support of their M&A practice; 2) an FDA associate who advises life sciences companies on regulatory issues and commercial considerations; or 3) a healthcare lawyer who represents pharmaceutical or medical device clients in transactional or regulatory compliance matters.
Selling Points: Our client offers a compensation package aligned with other non-profit organizations, and an exceptional benefits package (e.g., 100% medical/dental/vision for the employee and a 403(b) contribution up to 8%). The hours are very reasonable (8:30am-5:30pm) with no weekends. Currently, if you’re local, the legal team comes in 5 days a month; if you’re outside the DMV, it’s 3 days a quarter.
