Exclusive Position: Associate Counsel, Environment for the American Gas Association (Hybrid)

The AGA has exclusively engaged our firm to assist in its search for a lawyer with 5+ yrs. of environmental law, policy, and advocacy experience. Your primary role will be to work with colleagues and members to develop regulatory advocacy initiatives and policy positions on a wide range of environmental, climate, and energy efficiency issues of interest. Focus areas include the Clean Air Act, GHG reporting requirements, ESG and climate disclosure, methane emissions, and environmental permitting.

 

Other responsibilities: Oversee environmental litigation, including developing litigation strategy, drafting, reviewing, and editing court filings, and managing outside counsel; review and analyze federal regulatory and legislative proposals and draft comments on the same; assist the Government Affairs team with outreach to members of Congress and staff; and serve as Staff Executive to the Environmental Regulatory Action Committee and plan, develop content, invite speakers, host, and manage ERAC bi-yearly meetings.
