Environmental Litigation Opportunity (DC Office): Chambers-Ranked, Wonderful Culture, Partnership Potential

Garrison has been engaged by one of our favorite law firms to assist in finding them a mid-level environmental associate for their top Chambers-ranked practice. You will have an opportunity to take on a significant role in the firm’s environmental cases and rulemaking challenges involving a wide variety of statutes including CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, NEPA, ESA, TSCA, and FIFRA (experience and familiarity with these statutes is required).

We met with one of the environmental practice leaders and believe this is a compelling opportunity for an environmental lawyer who prefers to focus on the investigation/litigation side of environmental law while still deepening their statutory experience.

Culture: This firm is considered to be a Washington, DC gold standard for its atmosphere. For decades, the firm has been known to be friendly, compassionate and welcoming to all. This firm recruits carefully and places an emphasis on personality.

The Group: This is a large, full-service environmental and mass torts practice with numerous investigatory and litigation matters. They are a government-facing practice with a significant number of partners having high-level EPA and DOJ experience. Their client list consists of a “who’s who” of Fortune 500 companies.

Strong Advancement Potential: Our client has a strong track record of advancing associates, and this hire is being made with the intention of preparing this person for partnership. All but one of their partners and counsels are former laterals.

Hours/Compensation: The firms offer a variety of hours-based salary options that can bring you to about 85%+ of the Cravath scale. Associates average 1,900-2,000 hours in the group (which includes credit for pro bono and DEI efforts).
