We are working closely with the partners in the Structured Credit practice of a prestigious AmLaw firm – whose practice is “best in class,” Chambers-ranked and enjoys a dominant market share in this space. The group has an immediate need for associates with at least two to six years of experience. For the right candidate, a signing bonus and very flexible/remote in-office arrangements are possible. The group is also open to attorneys wanting to transition into this area and have a background in corporate, capital markets, and/or other finance experience.

More about this practice and the position:

  • Practice Details: Twenty-plus team members across multiple offices focusing on structured finance and securitization. The majority of the practice is collateralized loan obligation transactions. This practice is distinct from its peers for the below reasons:
  • Most Sophisticated Transactions Elite Clients – For the most sophisticated transactions, clients come to this practice, including virtually every major bank and premier asset managers.
  • Promotion From Within – Track record of promotion from within from associate to counsel and counsel to partner, including several female partners.
  • “Working Partnership” – The partners will be working with and alongside the team (and often even harder than the associates). These partners are very hands-on and emphasize that they are “accessible” to answer questions, provide guidance, and mentor and train.
  • Close-Knit Team – This is a very tight group with several partners who have worked together for nearly twenty years. The group works hard, but the partners are down to earth and even funny!

Compensation/Hours/Incentives:

  • Compensation/Hours – Cravath scale (base/bonus); billable hours are 2,000 (with credited amounts for pro bono and other firm contributions). Extraordinary bonuses available for super billers.
  • Hiring Incentives – Make-whole bonus for end-of-year bonus. Possible signing bonus.
  • In-Office/Remote – Associates are typically in the office 1-2 days per week. The practice will consider fully remote on a case-by-case basis.
