Associate Real Estate Counsel for Hospitality Portfolio of Global Real Estate Asset Manager (Hybrid)
G&S is handling an exclusive search for one of the largest real estate asset managers in the world. This Associate Counsel will advise the Company’s hospitality investment platform—a growing portfolio of 40+ branded and independent luxury and upscale hotels in North America. While you will focus on hotel asset management, our client seeks an attorney with 3+ years of general real estate experience at a law firm, REIT, developer, or other large commercial real estate owner. Serve as the “right hand” to the Senior Vice President, Investments, Legal in DC (who’s been with the company for 8 years) and work hand-in-glove with key business clients.
Overview of Role: Your primary focus will be reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts for asset management, design and construction, and commercial teams (e.g., public relations, retail leases, construction projects, branding, consulting engagements, and food and beverage contracts). You also will assist with land use and zoning projects and coordinate with local counsel nationally. Additional responsibilities include assisting with acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings as they arise, maintaining and expanding the Company’s trademark portfolio and other IP registrations, and coordinating with insurance consultants and insurance counsel on claims and litigation. Occasional travel to corporate headquarters in NYC and to hotel properties across the U.S.
