1900 Hours – Top-Tier Structured Finance/Securitization Practice Seeks Mid-Level Associate (DC/NY)

G&S has been engaged to assist a top-tier structured finance/securitization practice, in their efforts to recruit a mid-level associate to their thriving practice. This top AmLaw firm is THE player in the space, and they are arguably the most prestigious firm that does this work in DC. Although, this practice sits in DC, they are happy to have someone work out of their New York office.

After speaking with one of the partners in the group, we believe this opportunity is compelling for the following reasons:

  • Reasonable Hours: Unlike a lot of finance/corporate practices, this group is not a sweatshop. The attorneys are averaging approximately 1900 hours and also have the opportunity to participate in pro-bono matters (i.e., corporate transactional work for non-profits).
  • Cutting-edge Work: This group is known to be the first to do a handful of groundbreaking and extremely interesting transactions in the structured finance space. The work will include, agency mortgage REMIC’s, CLO’s, and other novel asset backed financings. You will have the opportunity to run your own deals, while also working on deals side-by-side with others on the team. Should you ever wish to go in-house down the line, this practice has an extremely impressive list of clients.
  • Mentorship and Culture: The partners are very invested in their associates and are known for their superb training and mentorship. They are a very close-knit group and genuinely enjoy spending time with one another (they have regular game nights and dinners). They are very collegial and collaborative and are known to be the “fun” team in the office.

Desired Profile: 2-4 years of corporate transactions experience at a top law firm. The ideal candidate will have structured finance/securitization experience. However, our client is willing to look at anyone with a finance or any other corporate background because they are confident they can effectively train this person.
